Britain's oldest virgin turns 105

When I read this story at work this morning there were gasps of amazement,(especially from some of the younger girls), that someone could live all that time without experiencing the joys of sex. But when I came home and thought about it logically, it made more sense.

The lady was born in 1903, sex before marriage was a definite no no,(though I'm sure it still went on). By the time the "permissive society" arrived this lady would have been in her sixties, so she would have missed her chance. It's quite sad really, and miles apart from today's generation of young "ladies".

Hmm, I think 'lady' is a term that will soon be consigned to the history books.

But if the lady in question has never experienced sex then she wont miss it. Maybe she's the better for it

You could be right there ha ha. I wonder if she's a teeny weeny bit curious about what she might have missed though.

I'm prudish enough to wish that some of Britain's ladettes had this lady's class. When she was young, the very idea of having sex with a man you'd just met that night was impossible. You'd never get a nice man to marry you if you did that.

Not prudish at all. If only people actually thought like that now

Who told the newspapers she was a virgin? It's a big assumption especially if she had a soldier boyfriend going away to a war he might not come back from.

That's true, she might have had an elicit affair before he left

Could be why she`s had a very life so far.

The lady,Clara Meadmore was interviewed and said"I have never been interested in or fancied having sex. I imagine there is a lot of hassle involved." She added "When I was a girl, you only had sex with your husband, and I never married."
She doesn't seem to have any regrets.

Don`t blame her,
