EE thread for October 2010
Ew, Billy and Jean. I'm not being ageist, just Billy and Jean-ist. Serves her right for going clubbing in a dress chosen for her by Kat, it was far too young for her. About eight inches too short as well. But I did think it was nice of Jay to realise Billy had really hurt Jean's feelings, though it looked like Billy was aware of it but couldn't apologise in case Jean took it the wrong way.
I think Dot has a new friend in Mercy's grandmother.

I didn't realise Billy was older than Jean I was glad Jay had a go at Billy for not going and apologising.
Urgh at the sight of Kat in that nightie, they are really making her look gross.

I don't know how old Jean is supposed to be but she looks older than Billy to me and he's about 50. I'm sorry we won't be seeing Carol's army boyfriend any more, he was the best looking older man they've had for a while.

I feel sorry for Alfie, Kat is so faithless. I don't think she goes with Michael though, or we'd have heard she was only staying for a handful of episodes.

Re: EE thread for October 2010
Missed it tonight, the weather was too nice so we were out walking the dog.
Re: EE thread for October 2010
Is Billy an adult or not? Surely he should be able to spend his birthday wherever he pleases.
What happened with Billy and Jay? I guess Billy hit him, but what brought it on?
I actually liked Kat tonight She's like Bianca, when she's not screeching, she's okay.

Re: EE thread for October 2010
Billy was already furious with Jay because Gregg (Tanya's man, who's re-building the Vic) suspected him of stealing some of his power tools. He went round to Billy's, and Billy said "Not Jay, he'd never do that" and let Gregg have a look in Jay's room, and he found the tools there. When Jay came back Billy tore into him verbally about that, and Jay wasn't the least bit sorry about embarrassing Billy. It might've been OK if Jay had shut up then, but he started quizzing Billy about his time in the children's home and Billy lost it and punched him. It was just one punch, Billy must be stronger than he looks.
I'm glad Alfie and Kat are staying together but, please, no more nude scenes.

Oh that was so sad. I've got a huge lump in my throat. Wonderful performances from all concerned, it wasn't till it finished that I realised how little dialogue there was. Huge empty silences.

Re: EE thread for October 2010
Oh I missed tonights, I'm intrigued now, I'm going to have to watch it on iPlayer.
Re: EE thread for October 2010
Hope you caught up with it, Lou, because I thought it was worth seeing. Tonight's was good too, Jim and Carol crying in the kitchen was so sad. But where's Dot? It was mentioned that she's away, but surely her place is with Jim at a time like this?

Re: EE thread for October 2010
I still haven;t caught up because I was working all day, then had to walk home because the car is in the garage, then walk the dog when I got home. So it was gone 7 by the time I sat down, I decided to deliberately miss tonights so I can watch them both tomorrow.
Re: EE thread for October 2010
Caught up today, I see what you mean about the acting Jo, all very good (apart from the new Lauren), particularly Bianca who was very convincing. One of the least dramatic deaths, but somehow more hard hitting than say Bradleys death!
Re: EE thread for October 2010
It was the most moving episode I've seen in years. I don't like Carol, never have, but nobody deserves that. I think everyone did a good job, I noticed even Ricky was a bit red around the eyes. Max was horrible, he had no right to say what he did to his sister.

Re: EE thread for October 2010
It wouldn't be EE if someone wasn't making a public spectacle of themselves. But Bianca's fight with Kim had such a good ending, I'll forgive her. Just this once though, cos Whitney wasn't right in what she said about Bianca being upset. Bianca's done this kind of thing too often before.

Re: EE thread for October 2010
Billy and Phil are making total fools of themselves, they're fighting over Jay like 2 toddlers fighting over a toy.
I know Max was upset about Lauren, but it shouldn't have taken being forced to go round to Carol. He should know what she's going through.

It's disappointing to see Jay ignore Billy in favour of Phil. When Ben comes back, there's going to be trouble.

Re: EE thread for October 2010
That woman turning up was all a bit odd. I'm sure Billy's address wouldn't have been given out like she said it was. I wonder if she's going to be around a bit more ?
Re: EE thread for October 2010
It was great to see Billy defending himself so much, even if it was out of self-pity. Julie seemed to recognise that, he must have been just as bad when he was a teenager.

Re: EE thread for October 2010
Billy Mitchell is one of the least attractive characters EE has ever had. The self-pity just takes over every time life gives him a knock. I admire Alfie's patience in getting Billy through that panic attack. I don't know if it's the actor or the writing, but I seldom feel sympathy for Billy Mitchell.
I missed the beginning so I didn't know why Bianca wasn't there. I thought she was in R&R when the police arrived.

Re: EE thread for October 2010
I don't think they said why Bianca wasn't there, they just all piled into the police cell.
I can't feel sorry for Billy either, he's just not likeable enough. Especially after all that 'I'm Billy Mitchell' nonsense the night before.
I wish they'd put Kat in something decent, she look horrendous.

Re: EE thread for October 2010
I thought Alfie and Billy were more interesting than the women. I saw the whole episode but I didn't understand why Pat had been locked up and Bianca hadn't.

Re: EE thread for October 2010
Carol's making it hard to sympathise with her.
I wonder if Jessie Wallace is embarrassed about how she looks right now. . It looks like Stacey is softening a bit. Kat hasn't much respect for marriage.

I felt sorry for poor Liam. My son had been watching it upstairs and came rushing down saying 'did you see that?, she just hit him for nothing!!'
I loved Janine's face dropping when Stacey mentioned maintenance

Re: EE thread for October 2010
I don't think the child support agency could get much out of a man with no job. I think Stacey was just being spiteful. It's quite annoying the way both Jean and Kat have encouraged her to go after Ryan. He's a married man, have they forgotten that?

Re: EE thread for October 2010
I think they have. Okay Janine is not a nice person, but she's the one Ryn picked, what ever her faults, she's still his wife.
(Haven't seen Friday's episode yet, it's been a stressful weekend!)
