Woolworths
I think its sad that Woolies is closing down. It used to be such a good shop, but they tried to be too much like Argos (IMHO). There should be some bargains in the closing down sale that starts tomorrow. Pity I've done all my Christmas shopping now
Re: Woolworths
As a child I used to spend a good percentage of my pocket money in Woolies.I'm ashamed to say, as an adult, I can't remember the last time I shopped in Woolies. I do a lot of shopping on-line as it's much easier.

Re: Woolworths
Thats the problem, the high street stores cant compete with the internet. I've done 90% of my christmas shopping online. But I decided to spend no more than £100 on each of the kids this year. And by shopping around, buying when there were various sales online (Amazon are terrible for having something on sale one week, then back to full price the next) I've managed to spend the £200 but got about £300 worth of goods (or £300 if everything had been full price).
Plus I use cash back sites, so in the New Year I'll have about £30 cashback to collect.
Its a shame for people who will lose their jobs because of it, but people are struggling this year and will be looking for bargains where they can.
