Tanya
In last nights episode once again Tanya proved how much more mature she is than Max (IMHO). Rather than get involved in the pettiness that Max seems to hold so dear to his heart, she had the sense to know that Abi is a daddy's girl and despite her hatred of Max asked him into the house to speak with her.
Max on the other hand would have continued to struggle with Abi (had the shoe been on the other foot) because he wouldnt have wanted to admit his failings, and would rather see his daughter suffer than admit he has any flaws.
Tanya has, throughout the marriage, only had the childrens best interests at heart, and is quite willing to say 'I dunno what to do' in order that Abi gets the best care possible.

Re: Tanya Branning
Yes she does. She's been far more mature than Max. The number of times Abi's turned on her and blamed her for everything that's happened to the family, it's all been so unfair.

Re: Tanya Branning
One thing that has bugged me though. When Max said to Tanya 'ask Jack where he got his money from', why didnt Tanya then start to wonder where Max got his money from. He's only an insurance sales man, and that house has to be worth £350k +, how on earth did Max get anyone to lend him that much on a salesmans salary unless there was something dodgy going on!
It looked like Abi was starting to accept Jack in this weeks episodes, maybe she'll start to grow up and realise the fault lies with Max not her mum.

Re: Tanya Branning
I forgot that Max is just an insurance salesman and a part-time one at that judging by the amount of time he spends hanging round the square all day. Lou, you're right where has he got all this money from?

Re: Tanya Branning
Not only that, but where did the money come from for Booty? Buying that building wouldnt have come cheap, or if its leased then it wasnt exactly the big pressie Max made it out to be. But even if he had a mortgage on it, that amount would have been deducted from any amount for a home mortgage, as business and personal mortgages cant be merged.
Just a quick look at JCP gives salaries for insurance salesmen in London between £11k ( ) and £55k, so even if a building society was going to lend 3x (which they stopped doing months ago) then he'd still be £200k short minimum.
And as you say Sally, Max Branning has to be the most part time insurance salesman ever So he cant be earning that much.

Re: Tanya Branning
The latest spoilers have Jack kissing Ronnie, I hope this is the start of Ronnie and Jack getting back together. Because Tanya's character is being dragged down by Jack.
Ok he's come up trumps a couple of times, when he spoke to Abi about the bullies, and booking the holiday for Lauren and Peter, which I guess is now spoiled because Max thinks everyone is as disgusting as he is But for the most part he doesnt seem to have a clue about having a family. Supposedly he's going to get upset when Tanya wont tell Lauren and Abi about the move to France, well why would she? You dont tell kids about anything that big until its iron clad, otherwise they get their hopes up and then if something goes wrong they're disappointed. Once the house contracts have gone through, the tickets are booked etc, thats the time to tell them.
I'm surprised he's so naive, because Penny isnt a young child, so he's had plenty of experience of family.
I would like to see her ditch Jack, go it alone for a bit and maybe (eventually) end up with a decent bloke that will treat her right, not just the kids.
She also needs to put down some rules regarding Max's contact with the children, i.e. you can see them at a weekend but you cant keep turning up at the house.

Re: Tanya Branning
I'd love to see Tanya alone. But EE will probably make her into a sad pathetic loser instead of showing her as a strong woman a single mum who can raise her family without their useless father.
