Schools Out Empty Schools Out

Post by Lou Mon Sep 15, 2008 6:25 am

THE LAST bell will finally ring at one of the best-loved schools in the country today.

The final ever episode of Grange Hill will air on BBC One this afternoon – with a special appearance from original cast member Tucker Jenkins, played by ex-EastEnder Todd Carty.

The school drama – which started back in 1978 - was axed after TV bosses decided it was not relevant to modern children’s lives anymore.

In its heyday it was considered to be hard-hitting for tackling tough issues such as teen pregnancy and drugs.

In the last ever episode the school is preparing for an end of term prom when an unexploded bomb is discovered in the sewerage system.
I cant believe Grange Hill is coming to an end, obviously I haven't seen it for years but I used to love it as a kid and watched it from the beginning.
