I agree with Lou that it was stupid. For a start, why wasn't Jack annoyed that Peggy and Sal went through his private belongings and found the ring? He should have bawled her out for that alone and told her straight that she was an interfering old bat. And he should have followed that up by telling her he would propose to Ronnie in his own time. It's ridiculous that a man like Jack would just sit back and accept being ordered around by Poisonous Peggy.
