Tanya and Lauren

I was chatting to a friend today who mentioned something I hadnt thought of.

Why did Tanya confess to the police? We have all said it was because Lauren ran over Max and no loving mother would want her child to suffer because of Max.

But! The police obviously have no evidence as to the real culprit or they wouldnt accept Tanyas confession. Meaning both of them could have kept quiet and no one would be any the wiser, and Tanya would be home where she should be. And like Lauren said last night, she would have had someone to talk to about Tonys unwanted advances.

If it ever did come out, then Max even as bad as he is, would never grass his daughter up to the police, so it'd just be another unsolved crime on the police's books.

So really the whole story makes no sense at all, unless Madeline is taking time off for her school work? And they're going to use it as a way to write Lauren out for a bit. Or Jo Joyner is leaving, because I cant see how Tanya can get out of jail without Lauren being implicated.

I think it was because Lauren was getting near breaking point and Tanya was worried she might crack and confess. That's the only explanation I can think of. Lauren did try to tell the police once and Tanya held her back.
