The Masoods
I've probably mentioned before that I think the Masoods are the best thing that has happened to Eastenders in a long time.
However, I am starting to get the feeling that my worse fears are going to come true and they are going to be used to provide some sort of comedy element in the show. The storyline with the curry and starting off a feud with Ian just seems to be a waste of their talents, especially when they could explore their past a little more. Explain exactly what happened with the fire, i.e. was the man Zainab was seeing Masood? Or was Masood the man she was eventually forced to marry, but fell in love with anyway? What happened to their other son Syed, was he illegitimate and was the fire part of Zainab's punishment there?
They could do so much with the Masoods rather than just start another feud with Ian when Phil can fill those boots any day.

Re: The Masoods
I agree, they are showing them to be different than the usual families, that come up, I like them as a family.
Would have been good to have fully explored their past. To have it in the story, and then forget all about it, then move on to this, I can`t really see the point of the in competition feud with Ian.

Re: The Masoods
I'm worried they're going to waste this family on silly lightweight plots. There's a place for plots like that, no soap should be all heavy and depressing but the Masoods still have so many loose ends. Syed hasn't been mentioned in months and we never did find out exactly what happened to Zainab as a young woman. I really want to know why she's so scared of Mas's brother, that's far more interesting than a feud with Ian Beale.

Re: The Masoods
By the look of Fridays episode it seems like Shabnam might be off screen for a while. I got the feeling she was wanting to go on a round the world tour.
It'd be a shame if she went because she's one of the only younger women in EE that acts normally.
