Casualty Empty Casualty

Susan Cookson has quit as Casualty's feisty registrar Maggie Coldwell after three years.

The actress has been involved in several major storylines since joining the cast of the BBC One medical drama in 2005.

The news comes three days after James Redmond, who plays mental health nurse Jon 'Abs' Denham, announced that he is also leaving the show during the forthcoming series.

Maggie is currently in court fighting to save her career as she is accused of missing a crucial test which may have contributed to the death of young patient.

Looks like its all change at Casualty. I cant say I'll miss Maggie, all she's done it moan for the last few months. But I'll miss Abs Sad

The Star wrote:HIT medical drama Casualty returns with full force as an estate is rocked by a series of explosions.

All hell breaks loose on Saturday when a gang of kids get their hands on a box of fireworks.

Wayward teen Sammy lets off a rocket in a stairwell, sparking fires through the building.

Medics are dispatched to the scene and it is all captured on film as a TV crew is on location at the Emergency Department.

With the film crew in tow, Jeff Collier (Matt Bardock, 38 ), Kathleen Dixon (Jane Hazlegrove, 40) and Adam Trueman (Tristan Gemmill, 41) start to treat the injured.

Sammy (Finn Atkins, 19) takes herself to the hospital with a burnt hand, and causes more disruption as she clashes with nurse Tess Bateman (Suzanne Packer, 46) before doing a runner.

Tess chases her across a demolition site but falls, impaling herself on a metal spike. Instead of helping, the teen thug films Tess’s injuries and runs off.

I enjoyed the start of the new season to a point. The actually storyline was good, but I wish they hadnt bothered with the clichéd talking to reporters bit. With everyone saying their job was the most important, the awkward moment when two people are interviewed and one says something stupid.
Every television series has done it and its never impressive.

And you just know by the end of it they're gonna be saying how no one member is important, they all work together as a team!

That apart, the rest was great, the accident when Dixie hit the girl was a whoa moment. And even though tess was stupid to go off after that girl by herself, and not tell anyone where she was going, you had to feel sorry for her.

I should take over from Mystic Meg Laughing As predicted, everyone went from being the most important person, to the entire team being important.

Great episode again and pretty realistic in the riot scenes.

Unlike ER, Casualty seems to be going from strength to strength rather than dragging its heels.

It was good to see that Dixie didnt just get over disabling a girl, rather than the normal bounce back as if nothing ever happened.

I liked Abs, it'll be a shame to see him go. The only one I cant stand is Jessica, apart from being two faced, the actress delivers the lines with the same expression and same monotone voice. And she's such a misery, I would have prefered her to go not Abs.

Casualty has been really daft the last couple of weeks. I've never really liked Jessica but this recent storyline with the baby and the husband going to Saudi makes no sense at all.

first last week, shes running to get to her kids before they disappear into the sunset, but stops to help a bloke who's collapsed. :hmm: I doubt any one no matter how caring they were would put a stranger before their kids.
Then Jessica is shouting 'he's stolen my kids' but the security guards dont bat an eyelid, Not a chance, especially in this day and age, he wouldnt be allowed on the plane until the police had been and it was all sorted.

Now this week, the husbands mother just comes and kicks her out of the house :rolls: and she still goes to help a patient before doing anything to get her kids back. She's the worlds greatest angel!!
