Friday 5th December
I just watched Fridays episode this morning. A show full of obnoxious brats. First Abi and her hissy fit over her pink clothes. Lucy and Peter with their demands for Christmas presents, my two are no where near their ages yet they have graciously accepted that Christmas presents will be much smaller this year. Ok Ian goes an odd way around when he does anything, but still Jane should be backing him up not spending money they dont have.
Then there was Whitney, now I know she was abused when she was 12 by Tony, but he spent a year in jail and she's older now. If he hadnt spent that year in jail I could understand that he could have asserted his influence over her the whole time. But she was 14/15 while he was in jail and at that age she should know right from wrong, and by her regrets toward Bianca (a few weeks ago) and the kids (on Friday) she knows she's wrong. I think EE have done the storyline wrong with Whitney actively encouraging a relationship she knows is wrong. It would have been far better to highlight the plight of those children that are too scared to say anything, the ones where the abuser threatens them into silence.
And then there's Roxy, the girl who never grows up. As far as she knows Amy could lose her fight for life at anytime, yet she's putting her own interests first rather than allow Jack, the potential father, to see her. Fine Sean is legally the childs father on the birth certificate, but anyone with even half a moral would forget the legalities and allow Jack the access he should have in case Amy dies. I hope that if Jack does turn out to be the father he makes sure for once the courts are used properly and he applies for additional parental rights. Because as a biological father he can take the DNA results to the courts and they will award his the same rights as Roxy and Sean. Then maybe Roxy will have to grow up a bit.

Re: Friday 5th December
I found the Whitney scenes quite disappointing, having got to like the character. As Lou says, she knows she's doing wrong. She looked quite upset at the thought of leaving her family because she obviously adores her little sister and stepbrothers. Then came Libby's encouragement and suddenly Whitney's thing with Tony isn't questionable, it's true love and nothing can stand in its way. How sickening.
It was nice to see Abi's hissy fits being directed at Daddy for a change, let's see how he likes a taste of what Tanya's put up with for years from that annoying child.
