In a desperate attempt to prove her mother's innocence, Donna - played by 22-year-old Verity Rushworth - loses control of her car at a roundabout, resulting in a mid-air flip and leaving her and police colleague Ross Kirk (Samuel Anderson) trapped inside.

After managing to free himself from the wreck, Ross spots petrol pouring from the ruptured fuel tank and has no choice but to drag Donna from the disaster zone. Seconds after their getaway, the car explodes into a ball of fire.

The Star wrote:EMMERDALE cop Donna Windsor-Dingle’s life hangs in the balance after this heart-stopping, high-speed car crash.

Fans will be shocked as Donna and colleague Ross Kirk hurtle through the air after she loses control of their car.

The smash comes as they chase Freddie York, who nicked the charity money Donna’s mum Viv had been charged with stealing.

Desperate to bring the con artist to justice, Donna (Verity Rush-worth, 22) loses control as she comes up to a roundabout and the car flips over trapping her and Ross inside.

Ross (Sam Anderson, 25) comes to and realises Donna is close to death.

He knows he should not move her but has to act fast as petrol is spilling from the engine and the car catches fire.

Ross manages to drag her out just as the car bursts into flames.

The dazed cop soon realises Donna is worse than he first thought as she is bleeding heavily.

In harrowing scenes, he desperately waits for the paramedics to come as she clings on to life.

A show insider said: “This is one of the biggest stunts we have done in a long time and it looks amazing.

“Fans are not going to know what has hit them.

“It’s a nightmare for Donna because she was so close to clearing her mum’s name.

“Viv’s court case is only days away and her future freedom depends on Donna bringing Freddie to justice.

“But after the crash, one question remains: Will Donna survive to clear her mum’s name or does

I dont watch Emmerdale anymore, but there might be other people here that do Smile

DS wrote:The cast of Emmerdale are reportedly becoming displeased with the show's 'tacky' and 'unsuitable' storylines.

One scene which recently caused controversy among the cast and crew during filming saw Douglas Potts (Duncan Preston) itching his groin in the village shop after catching a sexually transmitted infection.

An Emmerdale source told The Mirror: "This has to be the tackiest soap story of all time.

"Duncan was horrified. His character has casual sex, ends up getting crabs and is seen scratching himself in the corner shop. How can this possibly be suitable for a 7pm audience? Duncan is a top actor and it is terrible that he has had to go through this crackpot charade."

They continued: "Some people are so unhappy they are seriously thinking of throwing in the towel. It is not the happy place it used to be. They have got rid of good people.

"Anita doesn't seem to know what she wants. At first it was a return to family values, whatever they are. I wouldn't like to try to explain to children why Douglas is fiddling about with his nether regions."

A spokeswoman for the Yorkshire-based soap, however, said: "It raises awareness of what can be an embarrassing infection and stresses the importance of seeking medical advice."

Emmerdale Empty Coming Up

The Sun wrote:CARL is shot trying to rescue Katie and Matthew, who are being held hostage by a crazed gunman!

Matthew is alone at Home Farm when he is accosted by the intruder. And the crisis worsens when Katie walks into the attacker's path.

"Katie’s terrified,” says Sammy Winward, who plays her. “But she feels some comfort that Matthew is with her.”

The week starts well for Katie, who is looking forward to the village show.

“She is determined to impress Matthew there,” admits Sammy.

But Matthew has a bust-up with his brothers and stays at home – where he is set upon by the gun-toting lunatic!

Katie walks in on the siege when she returns to get changed, and is taken hostage too.

Later, Carl and Jimmy burst in on the scene. Carl challenges the gunman to shoot him – and he does!

“There’s a lot of blood, and Katie is worried that she will be next,” adds Sammy, who will only give one clue as to the identity of the attacker¿

“It’s someone seeking revenge on Katie and the King brothers,” she reveals.

The Sun wrote:JO resorts to desperate measures when she fears another beating from Andy – she tells him she’s pregnant!

As word spreads around the village, Jo begins to panic about her lie.

“She soon realises what a big hole she has dug for herself,” says Roxanne Pallett, who plays her.

First, Andy goes on the rampage after Katie tells him that Jo is spreading rumours about him hitting her.

When Jo gets home, Andy can barely contain his rage.

“Jo knows she is in for a beating and panics – she knows that he is desperate for a baby and decides to lie about being pregnant,” says Roxanne. “She thinks it will be the one thing to deter him from hitting her.”

Her plan works – but Andy is so happy he books a doctor’s appointment.

Andy tells Debbie that Jo is pregnant, and Debbie in turn tells Darren. He congratulates her within earshot of several locals.

“Jo wants the ground to swallow her,” adds Roxanne. “She knows Andy will be mad if she tells the truth, but if she continues to lie she will create an even bigger mess.”

AFTER months of resisting her feelings for Ross, Donna finally gives in to desire and sleeps with him!

“Ross kisses her again,” says Verity Rushworth, who plays Donna. “This time, she just can’t say no.”

Earlier in the week, Donna is upset when Ross beds Chas. But he says Donna can’t complain because she keeps rejecting him!

“That’s when Donna realises she does have feelings for him,” reveals Verity.

Later, Donna and Marlon meet Ross and Chas in a hotel for the Police Ball. But the Dingle cousins are ejected for fighting with the event’s compere!

“Marlon urges Donna to stay and make full use of the hotel,” adds Verity. “He even asks Ross if he’ll look after her!”

Ross walks Donna to her room. Soon after, he’s back and tapping at her door.

“He offers Donna a back rub,” reveals Verity. “Then, he moves in for the kill!”

In the morning, Donna feels guilty.

“She asks Ross to back off,” says Verity. “But there’s more to come from them!”

VIOLENT farmer Andy Sugden is left for dead by his wife Jo after being impaled on a spike in their bloodiest fight yet.

The horrific accident happens when terrified Jo tries to flee another beating.

Jo realises what she has done and frantically tries to free him.

But when the brutal wife-beater slaps her across the face Jo coldly tells him he can stay there and die – and walks away.

A source revealed: “These are some of the most dramatic scenes we have ever filmed.

“Viewers will be on the edge of their seats waiting to see if Andy lives or dies. It really is touch and go.”

The violence starts when Jo confesses she lied about her fake pregnancy so Andy would stop hitting her.

Filled with remorse he falls to the ground and begs for forgiveness.

But his temper flares again when he finds Jo’s suitcase packed and realises she is about to leave him and take his daughter Sarah with her.

Our insider said: “Andy corners Jo in the barn as she tries to escape.

“They tussle and he falls backwards and spears his shoulder on a spike. But when she tries to help him he slaps her across the face.

“The blow is the last straw and, filled with rage, Jo tells him to die before walking off.

“Luckily, Andy’s brother Daz soon turns up. Andy is rushed to hospital with his life hanging in the balance.”

The drama unfolds on ITV1 at 7pm on Tuesday October 7.

ANDY's life is in danger when he impales himself on a metal spike in an horrific accident!

Crazed Andy chases Jo when he learns she wants to take off with Sarah.

“He loses it, so Jo runs off and locks herself in a barn,” says Kelvin Fletcher, who plays Andy. “He breaks the door down, but Jo flees.”

As Andy chases her, he slips onto a spike. He begs Jo for help, but when she comes near he slaps her!

“Jo tells him she hopes he dies as she walks off,” adds Kelvin. “Andy knows he’s probably done for – he is losing lots of blood.”

Later, Daz finds Andy and calls an ambulance. Jo returns to the scene as Andy is rushed to hospital.

“It’s touch and go if the doctors can save him,” says Kelvin.

DAZ finally sees his big brother’s brutal behaviour first-hand when Andy lunges at Jo.

Unable to cope with being called a monster by his family, Andy tries to kill himself!

The drama starts when Andy discharges himself from hospital early and heads to Butler’s Farm, furious with Jo and Debbie for playing happy families with Sarah.

“He confronts them, but they won’t tell him where his daughter is,” says Kelvin Fletcher, who plays Andy. “He starts to threaten Jo, and just as he’s about to attack her, Daz walks in and sees everything.”

With his dark secret out, Andy feels his family would be better off without him, and downs a fistful of pills with a bottle of tequila.

“He knows it won’t be long before more people find out about it,” sighs Kelvin.

However, Diane finds him just in time.

She tries to reason with him, but is disgusted when he blames her affair with Billy for his violence!

“Andy breaks down and admits to Diane he hit Jo,” says Kelvin. “It’s going to be a long road to recovery.”

AFTER weeks of flirting, Anna and Matthew finally sleep together!

But, deep down, Anna is torn. Although she cares for Matthew, she wants her father’s approval by helping destroy the Kings!

The drama unfolds after Matthew takes Anna boating on the lake at Home Farm.

“Matthew paddles the boat as if it’s a gondola but loses his balance and falls in!” says Emma Davies, who plays Anna. “Anna’s in fits of laughter – then Matthew pulls her in, too.”

Afterwards, Matthew sees the dunking has ruined his watch. Noticing he is upset as he throws it away, Anna buys him a new one.

As an emotional Matthew reveals that the original was a gift from his father, Tom, Anna kisses him and they sleep together.

“Anna realises she has crossed the line,” says Emma.

Later, Anna steals the key for Pear Tree Cottage and gives it to Donald so he can snoop around.

“It troubles her,” says Emma. “She’s double-crossing a man she is developing strong feelings for.”

LOUISE decides to call off the wedding and go back to Australia after Jamie accuses her of cheating!
She dumps Jamie when he mistakenly thinks she’s having a fling with her work contact from Oz – and punches the guy in a jealous rage!

“To be accused of something that’s so far from her mind is upsetting,” says Emily Symons, who plays Louise. “That Jamie would believe other people over her is a big betrayal.”

At the start of the week, Bob and Terry see Louise kissing a mystery man and assume she has another guy on the go.

It turns out Louise’s ‘lover’ is Jonty, a man she met at the beauty pageant she won in Oz before moving to Britain.

Jonty – guest star Mark Little, who is best known as Joe Mangel in Neighbours – reckons Louise has a lucrative modelling career ahead of her at home.

“Jonty’s an Outback Simon Cowell,” laughs Emily.

When Jamie gets wind of the alleged affair, he decks Jonty! But with the promise of work, Louise takes up the showbiz guru’s offer to go home.

Shocked Jamie begs her to stay, then makes a huge decision about his future!

Like her character, Emily is heading Down Under after eight years on the soap as Louise.

“It’s time for me to go home for a while,” she says. “It will be nice to have an Aussie summer!”

CHRISTMAS has come early for Emmerdale fans – as the soap’s bosses have revealed some of its festive storylines.
Perhaps the most dramatic plot is that one unidentified female resident of the village will fall through the ice into a frozen river when a game goes horribly wrong – and discovers she’s not alone.

Chilling.

Elsewhere, Jo (Roxanne Pallett) leaves the Dales and faces an agonising dilemma as she decides whether to take step-daughter Sarah with her.

And Lexi (Sally Oliver) will fall prey to the green-eyed monster after she finds out Carl (Tom Lister) is involved with an old flame.

Meanwhile, Ashley (John Middleton) could get the Christmas miracle he’s after when the residents decide to unite and fight the closure of St Mary’s Church.

LILY Butterfield is diagnosed with a potentially life-threatening illness after collapsing.

Doctors say she must have surgery or else, but she refuses!

The drama unfolds after Lily blacks out at work.

Doug Potts rushes to her aid, but the poorly pensioner gets little sympathy from her other colleagues.

Poorly

Her funny turn comes just after they find out she gave the car they won in the raffle to Peter, so they think she’s faking it to get them back on side.

But the frightening fact is she’s got a blood clot on the brain.

“The other workers are pretty down on Lily because of what she’s done,” said Anne Charleston, who plays her.

“She gets into a nasty row with Val, and that partly brings on the collapse.”

Doctors explain she has a cerebral aneurism and must have surgery as soon as possible.

But Lily says no to the operation – and asks Rodney Blackstock to take her out drinking instead!

“People may say she’s in denial,” added Anne.

“But Lily knows the clot is there, she’s just choosing not to do anything about it.”

ANDY makes yet another enemy when he tries to snog his ex Katie – as a stunned Daz looks on.

When a rattled Katie spurns his advances, Andy reacts angrily, so she gives him the sack and tries to turn Jo even further against him!

“Andy’s head is all over the place,” says Kelvin Fletcher, who plays him. “He’s looking for some kind of comfort but gets it completely wrong.”

Andy makes his move after Katie helps organise a nativity performance for the local kids. Unknown to the pair, horrified Daz sees the kiss, but keeps mum.

“Katie makes it clear she is horrified,” explains Kelvin. “But Andy is adamant he hasn’t misread the signals and calls her a tease.”

Stung by Andy’s aggressive attitude, Katie fires him.

Meanwhile, Daz finally blabs the news to Jo. She then confronts Katie, who assures her that she didn’t want Andy to kiss her.

“Now Katie’s been on the receiving end of Andy’s temper, she feels more sympathy for Jo,” adds Kelvin. “She even warns Jo to cut all ties with him, for her own sake.”
