New Knight Rider

THE action quickly hots up as Knight Rider returns to TV screens . . . and its stars strip down to their undies.

Crime fighters Mike Traceur, played by Justin Bruening, and Sarah Graiman (Deanna Russo) get their kit off in their talking supercar KITT.

They desperately try to cool off as the black dream machine is enveloped in flames after being hit when baddies fire a bazooka.

But they cheat death as KITT races to a top speed of 377mph to extinguish the blaze surrounding its souped-up Ford Mustang body.

The series returned to US screens on Wednesday following the success of a pilot show last year.

The original, which starred David Hasselhoff, was a huge hit for ITV in the 80s.

The new-look KITT — voiced by Val Kilmer — has amazing capabilities, including being able to mould itself into a people carrier as a disguise.

Mike Traceur is the estranged son of Michael Knight (the character David played) and the show has left the door open for Hasselhoff to return.

In the first episode, Mike and partner Sarah are assigned a seemingly easy package delivery at a casino.

But it turns out the package is actually a man with a vital top-secret code decrypting device built into his DNA.

The job goes wrong as Traceur, Graiman and KITT are attacked by villains looking for the same man.

And from this point on it all gets flaming exciting!

I know it hasn't been shown yet, but it sounds like they've ruined a classic. KITT morphing into a people carrier , talk about going from the sublime to the ridiculous.

I was never keen on the original because I've hated David Hasselhoff for years. And I see no reason to change that opinion now.

Oh I was smitten by the Hoff when I was a kid, until he went to Baywatch

Cant stand him now though, that song last year was atrocious
