Max and the gun
This is another storyline thats bugging me at the moment.
This whole story about someone being murdered there. For one, Jack would only have to make a call to his old mates to find out if it was true, and why might he be suspicious? Well, why is it only Phil that knows anything about it, Dot has lived on the square far longer than Phil, and she's the sort of person who would have told the whole world that the hose was cursed since the murder, and thats why the Millers were never happy living there, no-one has ever been happy since it happened etc, etc. Yet Dot who lives right next door doesnt know anything about it.
Secondly, it was a council adopted house when the Millers lived there, the councils have to do complete inspections of any property, including clearing out all old property, they would have been up in the loft and cleared it before the Millers moved in.
But, if say the council were lax in their duties then the property company who bought the house would still have throughly checked it out. There was a gas explosion for goodness sake, the renovators would have been up to the loft to check the structural integrity, and agaiin would have cleared the place before selling it. Otherwise whoever they let it to could charge them for removal of goods.
Thats all supposing the Millers themselves never went up to the loft, the majority of people have a look up even if its just to check the insulation. And since the Millers were on benefits they would be entitled to free loft insulation, and Keith being Keith wouldn't let anything free slip through his fingers, so more than likely an insulation company would have been up there.

Re: Max and the gun
Good point Lou, about the house being checked for structural damage. The loft would definitely have been examined. But as you say, it's such a stupid storyline, one that could be proved to be absolute nonsense just by asking the neighbours.

Re: Max and the gun
There must be a defective gene in the Branning line that causes them to be liars and corrupt.
If I'd found a gun under the sink that I thought belonged to my brother I wouldn't stick it in my bag, and then lie about throwing it away. And presuming I had a brother I'd never had a problem with who happened to be an ex copper, I'd more than likely go and see him with it.
Or I'd take it down to the police in order to stop the first brother doing something stupid.
Yet none of the Branning siblings seem capable of doing the right thing

Re: Max and the gun
It was also noticeable that Phil seemed to wash his hands of the whole thing. He did nothing to help Max other than get him the gun (which by anyone's definition wasn't helpful) and now he's made it obvious he doesn't care what happens as long as the gun isn't traced back to him. I thought Phil and Max had become friends but I was wrong.
I don't think Suzy's too bright either. She didn't seem annoyed with Phil for his stupidity in supplying the demented Max with a firearm.

Re: Max and the gun
Does anyone know what's gonna happen now? I thought Max and Phil were going to set Jack up so do they get another gun or was that spoiler wrong? :hmm:

Re: Max and the gun
- Spoiler:
- I read that someone was supposed to get shot, and the big mystery was who's life was left hanging in the balance. So the gun must escape Suzy's handbag at some point, unless those spoilers were wrong.
