Would I lie to you
I absolutely love this, it's the funniest thing on tv. This is the second series and it looks like being just as good as the first. In my opinion, of course. Sense of humour is such a personal thing.
Rob Bryden was a guest in the first eppy. He was hilarious but distinctly odd.

I've never even heard of it (well I will do in a minute when I go and google it ), what channel is it on?
Lou29
That was a lie, I have heard of it lol, but I havent watched it. I dont know why because I think Angus Deayton is great, I must just never have seen it advertised (that's superb grammar there lol)
Bob
Never heard of it either, but then I hardly watch tv these days.
(I've just googled to see if Bob Bryden is who I thought it was (I'm completely out of touch as you can see). It was, thankfully......)
HiJo
Angus Deayton is so good at what he does. He might be smug and "difficult" but he's priceless. It's on BBC1 on Fridays, about 11 pm. Repeated on Mondays at 10 pm.
Lou29
I'll have a look for that then, because I do like those sorts of comedy/quiz shows
Bob
I've never had a problem with Angus myself - I always found him funny and as I live outside the UK I miss most of the stuff on celebrities' private lives so I take them as I find them. He's the best panel show host there is that's for sure.
Lou29
I dont really care about the private lives TBH. If Angus slept with 1 woman or a thousand women when he was married it still doesnt affect his ability to present a show or act (I thought he was good in One Foot In The Grave too)
louastra
I was going post about this on another forum, wondering if anyone watches it, brilliant show,
last Fridays was hilarious
I`ve booked it in to Sky+ so won`t ever miss it.
Lou29
I watched this tonight, hilarious Scotch egg phobia!!!
Is it the same format as another show? Or has it just been on before with a different host and team captains?

Re: Would I lie to you
I don`t know Lou.
It was good, I didn`t believe Trisha about the Scotch Egg, thought she was making it up.
A very entertaining show for a Friday night. 8-)
HiJo
I recorded it (it was past my bedtime ).
Lou, I couldn't tell you if the format's been used before. I don't usually watch this kind of programme, the only other one I watch is Have I got news for you.
I can't even imagine WILTY without that particular host or those team captains. David Mitchell has been called "a young Stephen Fry" and he really is imo.
Lou29
I think I might be thinking of Never Mind the Buzzcocks. I'm sure they had a round sometimes where a member of the public came out and each panelist had to say how they knew them and the other side had to guess who was right.
Edit: The Identity Parade: This is about trying to pick out an old band member from a popular band from about 20 years ago out of a choice of five. The audience are shown an old clip, the teams are not.
This was the round I was thinking of from NMTB, not quite the same

Re: Would I lie to you
Finally saw episode 2, the scotch egg phobia was so strange. Is Trisha running out of people to have on her show that she needs to do things like that?
I thought David Mitchell was really a bit anxious that Lee Mack was going to throw that coconut at him.
The person they bring on for the "this is my...." section, how do they stop themselves from laughing? If it's all unrehearsed they must have had their sense of humour removed to stand there straight faced the whole time.

Re: Would I lie to you
Michael Aspel is so droll, isn't he? I like him and I think Davina fancied him too.

Re: Would I lie to you
I thought she looked awful in those glasses, she really did look like Ken Barlow's fantasy woman
Re: Would I lie to you
I don't like Tara Palmer tompkinson and don't think she's witty enough for a programme like this. But I laughed out loud at Lee Mack's claim about being given a full body search at Miami airport.

Re: Would I lie to you
Just watched this weeks. I cant understand how Tara Palmer Tompkinson every got on on TV in the first place, she sounded half pissed in last nights programme.
Re: Would I lie to you
I think this was the last eppy of the series. I laughed so hard at David Mitchell being mad at Michael McIntyre, the man didn't seem to know the rules  . Graeme Garden was good too, I hope they have him back in the next series (at least I hope there is a next series). Lauren Laverne wasn't very interesting. I hadn't heard of her before this.
Nice to see Phil Daniels again, looking completely different from Kevin Wicks with his cropped hair and glasses. He really blew that "lie" though when he claimed his next door neighbour was a postman. I think that's how the other team saw through it, that a postman could afford to buy a house that used to belong to a celebrity, in a street where so many of the other residents are celebrities. If he hadn't said postman he might have got away with it.
