Now that was a tear jerking episode. Jamie Borthwick was the best actor on there, his reactions to everything were spot on, and it brought tears to the eyes when he broke down at the end.

The thugs on the other hand were crap, the least threatening looking thugs I've ever seen.

I liked the little cuts to Jase's thoughts, it added a bit to the episode, how things could have been.

And by jove she's got it, Dawn finally realises that materialism is not the way to go, too bad its too little to late. I thought Shirley was good tonight as well, she was spot on when she said two pieces of nylon, sewn together by chinese kids, is not the road to happiness.

And Jay heard what Jase said at the beginning, that he skimmed money off the top because Dawn wanted her bling, so he knows exactly who to blame for his fathers death.

The police normal were extraordinarily efficient, an armed response unit no less! Chances are in reality a PCSO would have wander in an hour after the call to see if any assistance was needed Rolling Eyes

Added: I cant blame Billy for hiding in the bathroom, ok he was scared but still could have helped, but then there would be 3 children without a father. he had to think of himself and his family.

I was okay, intill Jay got upset, agree with everything you say Lou.

If Jase was sposed be this hardman who went round beating people up, surely he could have sorted them feeble henchmen out.

I was blubbing. Little Jamie Borthwick is such a star, lashing out then crying on the floor like a baby. As for Billy, I don't think I'll ever feel the same way about him again. I agree with what Lou said, but I like to think if I saw someone being beaten like that I couldn't just turn away. Billy wasn't being heartless, he was genuinely scared and Perry Fenwick got that over in his usual competent way. Hiding in the bathroom, that's just what the Mitchell runt would do. He had the decency to be ashamed at Jay's praise. Terry was just so creepy though, the way he lay down beside Jase on the floor. It was almost loving, if it wasn't for the brutality just moments before. I'm glad he's been caught but the police turning up like that just wasn't realistic.

As for Dawn. Bleh.

I thought Dawn was truly awful, I just don't like her at all. Maybe I'll feel a bit of sympathy for her in tonight's eppy but the one I feel sorriest for is Jay. Sad

Dawn irritated me last night when the police cars turned up, and Shirley looked out of the window, then Dawn said something along the lines of 'its not about them, I want to talk about me'. The fact that Shirley could see them from the window meant that it was someone who lived close and therefore someone they knew, but selfish Dawn couldnt give a damn about her neighbours, it was all her, her, her.

And the more I think about it, the more her tale of woe didnt make sense. If someone had been brought up in the manner Dawn said, 9 times out of 10 they'd be very cautious with money as they got older. Look at people who were brought up in poverty during the war, they scrimped and saved, and continue to do so in their final years. They know what its like to be poor and have nothing to fall back on, and they dont want to go there again, so they end up sitting on large nest eggs and never spending it, because its 'always there for a rainy day'. I think more than likely Dawn was mollycoddled by Rosie because for a long time she was the only girl. Otherwise why did Dawn get the new bag, what about Mickey did he get anything new? I doubt it, if they were that poor they wouldnt have been able to afford two new items.

Nah, she was just trying to make up excuses for her behaviour and taking money from crime, and couldnt think up a decent enough story on the spur of the moment.
