Torver Common
I decided to have a little drive up to the lakes after tea, so I stopped of at a place called Torver Common, which is near Coniston (you can actually walk to Coniston Water from there), and took a couple of picture. This is one of them
Well actually it was 7 images made into an HDR image

Re: Torver Common
It is a lovely part of the world, even if I do complain about it being the back of beyond sometimes
Re: Torver Common
That is a fantastic picture Lou. How do you do that (the making a HDR image from 7 photos thing)?
I wish I could take photos like that. I suppose half of it is in the composition of the picture.

Re: Torver Common
With the HDR you have to have at least 3 images one over exposed, one under exposed and one with a neutral exposure. The more images you use the greater range you get.
Then you can either merge them in Photoshop or use a dedicated HDR programme like Photomatix.
You can get some pretty good results with HDR
HDR Images
These are all HDRs, I think a few have been over cooked, but some are just lovely.
One of the first things I learned about composition is to get low. The lower the better, it was far too boggy there to lie down, but quite often its the only way to get the composition you need. One day I'll buy a new tripod were the centre column turns upside down or can be removed, but at the moment I'm making do with my cheapy one.

Re: Torver Common
Amazing detail. I'm not technical, my other half is in charge of the camera.

Re: Torver Common
Thanks Jo
I prefer to be on this side of the camera, then theres no chance of accidentally appearing on the photos
