Monday 4th August
History rewritten again. Nigel is now a distant uncaring father who never bonded with Clair and it's his fault she's a s l a p p e r. All she wants is to be loved.
I enjoyed Peter's betrayal of Ian. He deserves it because of the way he treats people. Unless it's going to be a double bluff, with Peter keeping Ian appraised of what's going on. It could be, since Ian couldn't actually do anything to stop the Masoods starting up their business but could put a stop to it if he has inside information via his son.
Roxy and Sean were just gross. Why behave like a couple of hormonal teenagers? A bit of decorum please, nobody wants to see you two playing tonsil tennis all the time. Phil was quite right to tell them to leave off, they must have been putting the punters off their pork scratchings.
It was great to see Ben finally utter the magic words "I don't want to be like dad". It's strange how both Phil and Ben have messed up their sons so much that the boys are (apparently) seeing their fathers through much more judgemental eyes now.

Re: Monday 4th August
Worst episode I've seen in ages. Why does every single couple in Eastenders have to move their relationship along at record pace? I used to think it was bad that a couple were unlikely to stay together more than two years, but now they're hitting serious commitment within two weeks of being together. At least Sean and Roxy have the excuse that Roxy's pregnant, and they've decided to try and be a family. What's Peggy's reason for marrying Archie so quickly? And why is she just dismissing everything Ronnie says outright? Ronnie told her before that Archie had affairs, and now she's said directly that Archie is dangerous. Shouldn't Peggy at least wait a couple of months to make sure that Archie's *not* just sweet talking her like Ronnie says?
And speaking of that, does Archie have dual personalities or something? Because I could've sworn that when they went to his house, Archie grabbed Ronnie by the chin, held her down, and swore he would 'break' her if she took Roxy back to Walford. In tonight's episode, he was nice and sweet to her even when they were by themselves. She was the one with the abrasive tongue and the unwillingness to let go of the past. Is he just keeping up the happy face, so that eventually he'll snap and enact violence on both Ronnie and Peggy? Or is he a graduate from the Steven Beale School of Psychopathy?

Re: Monday 4th August
I get Archie's reasons for courting Peggy, it brings him back into the family fold and gives him power over his daughters. And I get Peggy's reasons for courting Archie, she's lonely, past her prime, so when a handsome man wants a relationship with her she'll grab it with both hands. What I don't get is the writers insistence that Peggy has somehow carried a torch for Archie for years. We'd never heard his name mentioned till Ronnie and Roxy arrived at Phil's wedding, describing themselves as "Archie's girls". But now we're supposed to believe that Peggy might have had a bit of a thing with Archie in her younger days, or at least a massive crush on him.
We're also supposed to believe that Peggy who, for more than a year now, has got really close to Ronnie and trusts her judgement, suddenly decides Ronnie doesn't know what she's talking about, or that she's just plain lying about her father. Peggy's learned nothing from Kat's warnings about Harry, she's going to make exactly the same mistakes again in her blind need for a man in her life.
