Friday 8th Aug
I havent caught up on earlier in the week but I gather I missed Claires leaving
Dot was rather irritating tonight, I know she was supposed to be worrying about Jim, but the whole thing with the bin bag and the smashed teacups was a little OTT. I wish Stacey was like that more often, she's much better when shes not screeching at people.

I'm in agreement. Probably the first time I've ever said this: Dot annoyed me. It might be harsh to say, and it's difficult for me to put myself in her position, but she just seemed to ooze way too much self-pity. Even Stacey's wise words (who knew?) didn't help. Smashing the plates and going fruity over the cake just seemed unnatural and not the usually Dot. Maybe it was supposed to? Maybe it's to show us how much this has affected her outlook, but yet again with EastEnders (like with Clare) they leave it to the last moment to show us. Instead of slowly showing us how it's affected her, they show us it in one big over the top lump where plates are smashed and cakes are ruined.
Other than that, it wasn't a bad episode. I wish the incredible Masoods weren't being wasted on a cruddy storyline.

Re: Friday 8th Aug
Thats precisely what I was thinking, up until now Dot has been plodding along pretty much as normal. Then suddenly we're meant to believe that she hasnt been coping at all and is in turmoil
I loved the cash curry though  No doubt Ian will be wringing it out to dry

I thought Stacey was really good tonight, she wasn't going to let Dot off the hook. Dot's just annoying me now with her self pity. She could let Jim come home to his own house but she's too selfish to look after him even though she knows she'd get help to do it. I don't like that side of Dot at all.
