Two police dogs die

This is a truly shocking and very upsetting story. On one of the hottest days of the year these poor animals had been left in a van by a police dog handler. Unbelievably cruel, and totally avoidable.

Absolutely disgusting, there's no excuse for it whatsoever. And I hope it's not swept under the carpet, anyone else would be in court if they'd allowed that to happen.

I got into our car this morning and it was just so hot that I started sweating and my heart started beating really fast, my clothes were sticking to me and I felt nauseous. This all happened within two or three minutes. God only knows what distress those poor animals were in.

I would be very surprised if anything comes of this. None of the police officers responsible for the death of that poor greyhound last year were even suspended.

If a bloomin' dog handler doesn't know such a basic thing, he's no right being in that job.

That's the thing that I find unbelievable. He/She is a dog handler for God's sake. People often cause suffering to their animals through ignorance, but it was this person's job to take care of these animals.

The officer is going to be prosecuted.

That's very good news. Just after it happened, it was reported that the officer had been sent home to "recover from the trauma". That made it look like they were more concerned with the idiot's feelings than the suffering of those poor animals. I hope they throw the book at him. He should lose his job over this.

What a stupid man he is. I hope he gets prosecuted.
